Network Marketing: 3 Decisions You Must Make To Be Successful

Network Marketing is no different than any other decision you make in life.  Have you ever had a decision in life where you had to decide exactly what you wanted the outcome to be before you did it?

For example, for me, it was a half marathon. I was going to run my first half marathon and I’m not a runner so I had to decide what my goal was for the run. Did I care about my time or what place I finished? To be quite honest, I just wanted to be breathing at the end of it.

There are times in life it’s important to know the outcome you want from a decision before you make it. And what we’re going to talk about today is how that applies to network marketing. Network marketing is a business that you need to think about. What is it that I want to get out of it to feel I made the right choice?

I got started in network marketing about 10 years ago by fluke. I didn’t even realize I had signed up for a network marketing business. I thought I had just purchased a great product. And come to find out, I had been signed up for a business. I never really had time to think about that decision but I learned a lot in that first experience, and that’s what I am going to share with you today.
There are three things that you must decide before building your network marketing business.

What Do You Want

First, is what do you want? What are you trying to get out of it? Do you have a dollar amount? Are you trying to make $500 a month? Are you trying to make $5,000, or are you trying to make $50,000? Or are you getting in it just for the social side, because you want to have some new friends and you want to hang out with people? Or maybe you like the training events that they have. So really think about what you, personally, want. Because there’s no right answer, it’s about what is it you’re trying to get out of it.

What’s Your Reality

Two, is what’s your reality? If you want $5,000 a month, and the most you’ve ever made in a month’s time is $3,000, that’s almost double. It may take you a little bit more time because you’re not in the same mind space making $3,000 as you might need to if you’re making $5,000 or $50,000 a month. Be clear with your reality.
If you’re also watching five hours of TV every day, what is it going to take for you to build this business? You may have to stop watching TV. You may have to stop going to functions. There’s some things you may have to give up. Are you willing?

What Are You Willing To Do

Lastly, what are you willing to do? This is probably the biggest one. I think, we assume we’re working hard, I know I did. I was working full-time and had two kids and managing a household. And I felt like I was working hard. But boy, I’ve got to tell you, I had no idea what working hard was until I decided to build this business. It took consistency, persistency and a strong drive to succeed.
So, what are you willing to do? Are you willing to give up watching TV four hours a day? Are you willing to give up going to your kids’ events? Are you willing to give up these sorts of things? So be clear on what you’re willing to give up for what you want.

The three things that you’re going to want to think about is

What do you want?

What is your current reality or situation?

What are you willing to do?
